Autobiography

Bibigul Nauryzovna Kylyshbaeva was born on February 10, 1969, in Ush-Tobe, Almaty region. In 1986, she graduated from K.I. Satpayev Secondary School in Dzhansugurov village. In 1991, she graduated from the Philosophy and Economics Faculty of S.M. Kirov Kazakh National University with a degree in Philosophy. From 1991 to 1998, she worked as a teacher of social and humanitarian disciplines at the Taldykorgan College of Economics and Technology. In 1999, she defended her candidate dissertation. From 2000 to 2004, she worked as a senior lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and Political Science at I. Dzhansugurov Zhetysu State University and was the Academic Secretary of the University's Academic Council. Since 2005, she has been an associate professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2011, she defended her doctoral dissertation. From 2012 to 2016, she served as Deputy Dean for Research, Innovation, and International Relations at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science at Al-Farabi KazNU. From 2022 to the present, she has served as Executive Secretary of the KazNU Bulletin, Psychology and Sociology Series. In 2009, she won a CARTI grant from the Open Society Institute of the Soros Foundation to conduct research on "Ethnosocial Factors in the Construction of Gender Identity." In the 2009-2010 academic year, she received the diploma of "Best Faculty Teacher." In 2013, she was awarded the Bolashak International Scholarship. After completing her internship under the Bolashak program, she worked for three years at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science. In 2018, she received the grant for "Best Teacher of the Year." Over the years of her research and teaching career, she has published over 80 papers, including five textbooks and journals indexed in the TR and Scopus databases. Along with her research and teaching, she has conducted practical work, sociological research, educational seminars and workshops, various projects, and summer schools. She teaches lectures in three languages, supervises graduate theses in master's and PhD programs, developed a double-degree educational program in collaboration with UrFU called "Preventology in the Youth Environment," is a member of the working group updating the Concept of Family and Gender Policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2030, serves as an expert on certification committees, and develops entrance tests in sociology and social work.
